Monitoring here means a scheduled monthly audit. It repeats the published Millwards Online rule set for an authorised domain and provides refreshed results. It is deliberately distinct from continuous uptime, security, analytics or rank-tracking products.
Why repeat a website audit?
Websites change even when the owner is not actively redesigning them. A plugin update can alter HTML, an editor can replace a page title, a redirect can be introduced during a domain change, a form can lose its label, or a third-party script can increase the initial document’s complexity. A report from six months ago cannot describe today’s response.
Monthly monitoring repeats a consistent diagnostic so you can see the latest scores and findings. It is most useful for small businesses that make regular content or platform changes, rely on an external supplier, or want a routine prompt to review public-facing foundations.
The product does not silently modify the website. It produces information for you to verify and act on. A score movement can indicate a changed detectable signal, but it should be investigated against the live page before any conclusion is drawn.
What the monthly rescan checks
Monitoring uses the same defined categories as the one-off audit:
- Technical healthHTTPS, status, redirect path, selected headers, canonical URL and discovery files.
- Search foundationsTitle, description, headings, indexability, structured data and sharing metadata.
- Content signalsApproximate visible copy, image alternatives, internal links and contact paths.
- Customer trustContact, privacy, About, social or map profiles and location signals.
- Accessibility basicsViewport, language, form labels, button names and a skip link.
- Performance signalsServer-side fetch time, HTML size, image lazy loading and external script count.
Because the scan primarily inspects the submitted public page and limited standard files, a change elsewhere on a large website may not affect the result. The audit methodology defines the request scope, score bands and current rule thresholds.
What you receive after a monitored scan
A successful scheduled scan produces refreshed overall and category scores, the current findings and change alerts associated with the monitored diagnostic. Report access is linked to the email used at Checkout. Monitoring history may normally be retained for up to 12 months, subject to the full retention notice.
If the site cannot be reached, the service may retry or record an unavailable scan rather than inventing a complete result. Scan dates can vary slightly because the website, network or supporting services can be temporarily unavailable.
Use score changes as a prompt to inspect evidence. A faster server response on one date does not prove a permanent performance improvement, and a newly detected title does not prove that a search engine has indexed it. The value is the repeatable checklist and current evidence, not a guaranteed business outcome.

Stripe charges the subscription when it starts and on each monthly renewal date until it is cancelled. The product, billing frequency and final amount are displayed again at Checkout. Prices are in pounds sterling; Millwards Digital is not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not added and a VAT invoice is not issued.
You can request cancellation through the available Stripe billing link or by emailing billing@millwards.online from the Checkout email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. There is no cancellation fee, and the next period is not charged once cancellation is completed in time. Read the subscription terms before purchasing.
What online-presence monitoring is not
Monthly audit monitoring is not continuous surveillance. It cannot guarantee that a brief outage, hack, ranking change or content problem between scheduled scans will be detected.
- It is not 24/7 uptime monitoring, incident response or a service-level agreement.
- It is not security monitoring, malware detection, vulnerability scanning or penetration testing.
- It is not Google Search Console monitoring, index coverage reporting or rank tracking.
- It is not analytics, conversion tracking, call tracking or lead attribution.
- It is not a complete site crawl or recurring manual SEO, accessibility or legal review.
- It does not include automatic website fixes, hosting changes or content updates.
Those jobs can be important, but combining them under one vague “monitoring” label would make the product harder to understand. Millwards Online stays focused on audits, diagnostics and repeatable monthly checks.
How to start monitoring
- Run a free website audit and confirm the scanner reaches the intended domain.
- Review the snapshot and the example report format.
- Choose Monitoring or Agency in the pricing section.
- Complete Stripe Checkout with an email address you control and keep the private access links safe.
- Verify the monitored domain and use each refreshed result as a prompt to inspect changes.
Only submit domains you own, manage, represent or are otherwise authorised to assess. Agency customers are responsible for having appropriate client permission. If you need help with a scan, billing or cancellation, use the contact and support page.
Online-presence monitoring questions
How often is a monitored website scanned?
The monitoring plan schedules one diagnostic rescan each month. Dates can vary slightly because the website or supporting systems may be temporarily unavailable.
Is this continuous uptime, security or ranking monitoring?
No. It is a monthly repeat of the Millwards Online website audit. It is not continuous uptime monitoring, vulnerability detection, Search Console monitoring or rank tracking.
Can I cancel monthly monitoring?
Yes. Monitoring renews monthly until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period and there is no cancellation fee.
How many domains are included?
The £15 monthly monitoring plan covers one authorised domain. The £59 monthly Agency plan covers up to 10 authorised client domains.
